Hey fellow floating Tupperware fanatics.
Not sure what to do to revive the event either.
Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I've done it every year since 2012. I've given up trying to enter my last fish. There's been a problem with the page for a long time. I'm not sure who's in charge of it.

bsteves is the only one that I know of that can work on the problems with AOTY.  We are looking into seeing if we can submit your fish for you until the problems get fixed.  With me, I can’t get on AOTY with my IPad because it says there are too many redirects, but I can’t get on with my phone.  Hopefully things get fixed pretty soon.

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

Cameron showed me a way that I can get in by first going to the GOAT page then I can get into the boards. Thanks Cameron! Soon I will be able to start easing back into the kayak.

You could try reaching out to the NCKA guys that run their AOTY. I cannot access their AOTY now but when I check it out last year I believe there were about 100 anglers signed up for their Angler division. I don't know if it's just a numbers game down there where there's a huge kayak fishing community or something else that they are doing to attract anglers.

I came from NCKA and that's how i found NWKA.  The community is just more active down there.  They can have 100s of site visitors each day and people post all the time.  They host active get togethers and tournaments regularly and involve their community.  Another thing that NCKA does, that we don't, is post reports. Unfortunately, we have more talking about fishing then actually fishing on this page at times haha.  Of the recent topics only 2-3 are actual reports.  The other 20+ are discussions.  Oregon has a ton of kayak fisherman- i see more and more each time i go out.  But this site keeps shrinking in activity and so will the tournaments that are advertised on here- such as AOTY.  Fun note- the person who consistently posts the most reports (Clayman) came from NCKA.

I know I am calling the kettle black.  I used to post reports each time I went out and it phased out over time.  Its hard to continue posting reports when no one else is- surprised that Clayman has kept it up.  Bring reports back and give people a reason to come to the site and the advertising of AOTY will fix its self.

If anyone isn’t able to log onto AOTY to submit a fish, please send all the info directly to me and I will try to submit it for you.  I keep hoping the problems will be fixed soon, but I haven’t seen any changes yet.

One thing I've found that is working for me at least, is to go to this page first:

http://aoty.northwestkayakanglers.com/leader_board

and then go to whatever AOTY page you want.

As far as what to do to keep AOTY alive or make it grow; I'm open to suggestions. Having a reliable platform would be a good start.
