Daniel n I did Depoe, hardly any swell, but considerably windier than forecast. Not terrible, just annoying. Decent action in the morning, bite all but died around noon. I ended up with 8 barely legal lings, 18 chunky blacks, 3 med greenling, and 1 sm cab. I kept nothing, lings were smaller than I prefer keeping, and I already have a ton of rf in the freezer.

Daniel did about the same, with the addition of a large octopus, which was released. I think he kept a rf limit and a ling.

Nothing terribly picture worthy
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

I think it let go of the lure and fell back into the water when he brought it up.

You're welcome, sorry you couldn't make it out!

Chased some gold. First time fishing for them in the spring.  Lots of little fish schooled up so finding the keepers was a challenge.

My wife and I fished Pacific City on Saturday. Low swell but wind was a little stronger than I hoped for and also in the opposite direction of the current. This made it challenging to jig vertically. We did not venture too far from the rock and fishing was OK: Not dead but also not hot by any means. We both ended up with around 8 fish. Only took home a few as the freezer is still full with white meat. Typically April is a month that lingcod is on fire, but we both only caught a few (and most undersized). I hardly took any photos as i was focused on my new action camera to record movies. i found that i still have a lot to learn :) It was GREAT to be back out on the ocean though!
