2026 Siltcoos/Tahk Coho thread

It's almost lake coho time again!  lol

Uhtred and I visited the mouth of the Siltcoos river and there is a channel but it's only connecting to the river at very high tides.  Not as bad as some years when the river just runs into a solid sand dune but for now, there's likely only a connection for a short amount of time on some days.  I'll be visiting the river mouth on Oct.9 or 10 at high tide to check things out again.

At the lake there is better news, water quality and visibility are good, plus lake level is decent.

FYI-  Uhtred hasn't learned to stay on the kayak yet, planning to work on that at the lakes soon.  He really likes to swim. 
However, if there are no tennis balls visible, he stays on our PB and is well behaved/relaxed when there's a 'fish on' and during netting.  I have put big Siuslaw chinooks in the net both days he has been out so far, including this one where it was just me and him on the boat.
