Definitely a hot topic I bet :) just got back from Depoe a beer ago. Was able to confirm that I'll be the one with nothing to weigh in...

Did you fish it today? no dice?

The article is no longer up.  I managed to find the original post on ifish (http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=23492), but the pics are gone there.  Anyone have the article stashed away somewhere?

Thought I had this on my work computer but can't find the one with pictures (dead links).  I'll search my home computer and see if I can find a copy with pics embedded.

i'm sure i've got the link somewhere, just getting my PC back up and running after 2 days downtime...

Anyways, yeah, I went out the other day, with little clue where to look.  Poked around what structure I knew about and came back empty handed.  Was a great trip out though, and my first time there in the kayak.  The morning started with 4-6' and ended with an easy  2-3'.  Fog rolled in on my and I ended up drifting close to the north reef and found myself on a couple huge rollers that were easily pushing the 10' mark.  I made my way back to safer waters quickly after that.  The rocks in the area create some interesting chop, and, naturally, the further out you go, the easier the water gets.

Spot & Pole.  I want to say I have it around here somewhere. complete with pics. i'll have to look around a bit more.

J- lovin it

One thing we'll have to remember next weekend is that there is a $2 launch fee.

You can probably contact Dan on Ifish to see if he can republish the story, or shoot it to ya.  He now goes by Born to be Wild over there.   8)

There is some discussion near the bottom of the ifish thread which indicates that Dan no longer participates there, having gone to some other forum(which is not identified). Anyone got any ideas about which forum that might be?

Depoe Bay Rockfish.doc

Depoe Dan's post is one of the most generous I have ever seen on the inter-net. It is a shame that all the work he put into it is diminished somewhat by the deletion of the images from the ifish thread.

I really appreciate The Nothing's having re-posted it here on this forum, ... but the ".doc" file format (Windows Word 97) is not readable by many Mac and some PC machines. Graphics do not come through.

I, and others I am sure, would be grateful if someone would convert and repost that article in a more universally-friendly file type, such as ".pdf". (I am not computer-savvy enough to know what other "friendly" files would be most widely readable.)

[Of course I have the text on file, but the images would complete the package.]

Thanks for the time and effort! ;)

Ask and ye shall receive.  Also, you can download  open office writer http://www.openoffice.org/ . Its free and you can open most documents (all that I have tried) and convert to pdf.
