I'm looking for some advice on this place. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Skill level, solo or not, best fishing for steelies, salmon and cutties, what to use...things like that would be great.

TIA!
Chris

The Salmon River Estuary (North Lincoln County) adjacent to Cascade Head is a shallowm mud bottom.  It's decent for crabbing in later months before big rains.  Always good for sea trout (greenling) and cutts but poor on sand shrimp and clamming.  In the late summer (Aug-Sep) you can take your chances for chinook.  Beware of upstream bank anglers as you get closer to the 101 bridge.  They'll give you a rock shampoo during salmon runs.

It's an easy day on the water, especially if the tide is in.  But when it's out you're gonna get muddy getting back to Knights Landing http://www.co.lincoln.or.us/lcparks/knight.html.
