Hey sarge I built one a last year in a welding class at the community college. Although I used scrap steel, the thing would haul a car, it works great, you can stack and haul with it. I used pnuematic tires as well. you can pick them up at most hardware stores for dollys or wheelbarrows. I posted a picture on here some where. Although it weighs about12 pounds and does not fold up I like. It will never ever break.

Yeah, I thought about using steel but I really like aluminum. No rust, easy to weld and it's light. I'm gonna need to make mine collapsable so it'll fit in the yak.

Actualy I have had no problems with the rust part. Snded it, primed it, and gave it a double coat of good ol rustolem. But it don't fold and is heavy. But I can use it to move furniture with. It is definitaly a beast. I just end up running it back up to the truck instead of carrying it on the yak. If yo have scupper holes on your yak that is another option, make a yak that supports through the scupper holes. It will never slide off that way.

I've heard of people having problems because of those scupper carts, anybody know if that's true, particularly on a T13 2009 model? If that's caused by having too small diameter tubing, I can just get bigger stuff so it fits a bit tighter. Also, it could be made out of thin wall steel tubing. That would be the easiest way to do it for sure. Would also be the lightest way to go. I'm gonna go back to the recycling place to see if they have any small diameter round tubing in. Aluminum really is so much better than steel for our purposes, hopefully they'll have some.

I'll post if anything changes.

You can always bulk up the diamater with good ol duct tape to make them snug too. I bought bike handle bar grips for mine and that seems to work good. Not scupper hole though just cradle type.
