My phone was a casualty of Saturday's swim and gave me the impetus to upgrade. I got the GzOne Boulder. Why's it special? It rings in a glass of water. A buddy of mine in FL showed me that and keeps his clipped to his vest like a vhf. I've been looking at this phone for a while, but I did not want to give up the PDA. So far, so good, it just doesn't sync directly with Outlook. Kinda spendy though. Best arm twisting price I could get out the salesman was $150 ::)

I lost a phone last year in the surf!! Now I use a water proof container. Cost less than a water proof phone. But with a water proof phone you can make calls and not worry about it. It never fails my wife will always call when I'm hooked up to a fish or the waves are pushing me into the rocks. Cell phones are sure nice when your out Sturgeon fishing, the poker game helps pass the time.

I just received my Boulder a few days ago, but I noticed that my particular Boulder did not come w/ a camera.  Does your model have the camera option?

Does it float?
Nope

How do you know?   ;D

Because I tested it ;D It swam straight to the bottom in the bathtub just fine.

WW: Mine does have the camera and it takes a pretty good pic (I think). I'm kinda excited about that too as it  has a "vanity" image so I'll have a better idea of where the picture is for self portraits. Now I got adapt it to my experimental self portrait arm on the kayak.

Does it float?

Why did you have to ask that?
So I had to do a secondary float test and NO it does not float. It popped off the clip and sank into the Willi.  :angry4: Some Sturgeon is probably making fish porn and calling Russia with it now. Glad I got insurance.

I asked you so that you could determine it's floatability before you ever had to answer it with some story about loosing the actual phone.  I never meant for you to do the real world test.

Oh well.

A new thought just came to mind along the lines of "do you leash your paddle".   ;D

I honestly think someone should get this guy a phone leash.  8)
