Anyone interested in giving it a look this Sunday? Preferably launch some place within a 1/2 hour from Tualatin.

I have been catching 4-5 smallmouth a day on the willy in the OC area after I punch my tag for salmon/steelhead (depending on the day of the week) ;D.  The water is just starting to warm up and is right around 50deg  I have been getting them on crankbaits.. chartreuse tigerstripe bomber long A's in particular.  Hit the rock points and current breaks

Thanks!
May put in at the ramp in Oak Grove. George Rogers is closer, but carrying my kayak on my shoulder up and down the hill is no fun.

Or you could put in at meldrum bar park and paddle across the river to the West linn side and fish the waters   upstream behind yucca island a down stream around Mary s Young park.  Lots of bass in this area and Meldrum Bar would be a cake launch, as you can drive to the waters edge.

I'm up for anything. However, I may need directions to whichever launch we're starting from. I'll be at work until 4:30 this afternoon...in other words, I'll be following this on the computer.  ;D

Cedar Oak Ramp is right up the road from George Rodgers and you don't have to drive across the river. No hill and your just across the river and downstream from Meldrum Bar. I just added three west side launches to the NWKA google map. Cedar Oak, Meldrum Bar, and Willamette Park (near the Tualatin river). You can find directions there.

Meldrums is on the east side of the river.

There is also a great launch using the parks and rec trail off "failing st." in West Linn. A cart is a must have though.

The bass are biting.  We finished up salmon fishing this morning at 9:15 and fished for bass for an hour or so before it was time to go mow the lawn.  Three rods each got 4 fish.

Tomorrow, Sunday, 4/19
Cedar Oak Ramp
9am

I'll be trying to figure out how to rig and fish for bass.

All advice, company and spectators welcome to join. Please keep the laughter down to a dull roar. Rescuing electronic devices from the Willy will cost extra....

Cedar Oak ramp it is. 9 AM is great. Kids are at a sleep over tonight and I just uncorked the cab. so a little extra sleep will be nice.
Looking forward to meeting any of the NWKA crew for the first time.
