I'll be in Kitsap county area on the Mother's day weekend, and the GF and Dragon-in-law have come to realize that when I go fishing it gives them more time for shopping!  So, is anyone in the OP available for some fishin' on Saturday?  Should I bring all the gear? I'd be willing to drive about an hour (or a little more) to get to a good spot, salty or fresh, and would be coming from Port Orchard area.  I'll be there on Friday late, so Saturday relatively early is good.  Anybody goin' out just lemme know!  Please? Pretty please?

Unfortunately I know nothing of the waters in this area.  I'm hoping to hook up with a local.  I'll do some research.  I always do  :-*

Unfortunately I will not be home much this weekend.  But there local in Port Orchard is Long Lake.  Bass, Trout....  Island Lake up by Keyport, 35 minutes or so north of PO.  buddy of mine just fished for trout there.  Devereaux Lake near Belfair again for trout.

I haven't fished much salt up here yet.  but working on it.  Hope this helps a little..

Long lake......... is suppose to have some good LMB, Crappie and of course trout

devereaux Lake in Belfair. is baisically trout

Spencer Lake northeast of Shelton has Rainbow trout and LMB

theres a few others but there just basically small ones with a limited amount of trout in them.

Mason lake is one you want to stay away from if the weather is great. to many PBers out there and skies.

my information is coming from the washington fishing guid by foghorn outdoors.

There are big tide swings this weekend, so saltwater fishing would be tough. The -1.7 low at 11:40 would make for a good clamming tide, however. If you like that idea, look for an open state beach on Hood Canal.

YM...

I was just told by a buddy over in the kitsap area that Kitsap lake is great for bass and Trout. also is very calm and perfect for kayak fishing. Hes a PBer but is interested in this side of it.

I'll be a lot closer to Long Lake than to Kitsap Lake, looks like.  I still have some more research to do.....

I have not fished long lake in a while but I had the same issues with power boats and jet skis that mason has plus the fishing was not great.  I might be heading out to one of the mason county lakes like Devereaux or spencer this weekend still a little up in the air on if it is going to happen.  you are looking at maybe a 30-45 minute drive from port orchard depending on where you are at.

Driving up to an hour is no problem for me, coming from the boonies SW of Port Orchard.  I've done a lot of fishing in lakes that are "convenient" and that has directly influenced my catch rate  :'(  So, if you know of any better waters, I'm definitely game! Don't hesitate to PM me if you have a spot you don't want to "broadcast" to loudly.

If it comes down to it, I'll probably head to any 'ole water on that Saturday just to get the gear another good rinse.

Man the wife and I have already committed to a hike in the olympic on saturday.  She like to fish too.  I'm almost jealous that we will not be around for a small get together..

maybe in the future.. Pete

Alright I got the go ahead for a saturday morning fishing trip (I am trying to get my honey do's done prior to salmon season)  I am thinking either Devereaux which I have only fished once, spencer which I have never fished or a little lake I like that PNWCOONASS and I have fished a few times this year,  it has trout in it and should have some tripoids left but the bite has been slow this year.  but then again we have pulled a bunch of small stockers and some 2-3 lbs out of it.  it is a little futher away looking right at an hour.  we have been using kastmasters,  powerbait eggs in chartuse and trolling flat fish  OH FORGOT TO ADD (which one sounds good to you guys? I will fish any of the three)

I'd be up for any of them.  If you don't have more than the morning available, then I suggest you pick one close to you.....

I live out closer to shelton so they are all about the same to me,  I will fish until about 1130-1200 so i will get plenty of time in.  I will check for local report tonight and let you know what is up.  squidgirl are you going to be coming up 101 or over the narrows.
