Has anybody successfully installed an anchor trolley on a hobie mirage drive yak?  If so I hope you have pictures.
I think the boat sits so low in the water and the sides are so rounded there doesn't seem to be a great way to put a trolley on.  Maybe you guys have some better ideas

There's plenty of kayaks that sit much lower. Plenty of people have put anchor trolleys on Hobies. They sell a kit for it! You shouldn't be so negative YN..  ;)

BTW why do you want one? I don't see a reason for one as I pretty much never anchor up. If I do it's for dino fishing and I can go minimal (ala Bsteves quick release anchor system) and works just as good. Outside of that people use it for drift chutes but with the MD you can just pedal up current.

I guess that's why most the people i fish with that don't have one are dying to get a hobie or kicking themselves that they bought a paddle yak.

Enjoy your new hat.... ;)

Good eye Yak Monkey!  I was wondering if anyone would even notice the little squigly of small text there.   ;D

You Hobie drivers know I'm just teasing. There certainly is something to be said about being able to troll for trout and eat lunch at the same time.
Can't do that with a stick in my hand.  :-[

Roy, we've fished together and I recently turned down a Hobie sponsorship because I prefer to paddle. ::)

Where's the fishing in pedadle?

There's that and a whole lot more. In windy conditions a Hobie can move quicker w/ less effort due to the lower wind profile. When there's a drift you can control it or hover w/ the MD. You can undo snags by paddling up current and freeing w/ rod in hand. You can do the same for snagged anchors. And you can tow other yaks quite easily. (Steelheader's happy I ride a Hobie. ;D) etc. etc..

The floating piece of plastic your sitting on has little to do with how many fish you catch.  That has more to do with the stuff between your ears.

That said I will stick with My Fish-N-Dive ;D IMO hands down the best yak for NW saltwater fishing/crabbing etc >:D
