Forum email problems

We've been having some forum email problems.  Is anyone getting any notification emails at this time?  Is anyone NOT getting them when they think they should be?

yeah, I realize I wasn't getting pm notification emails for a while now.

yeah, whenever you receive a pm on the site, you get an email. I had it set to do that, but just now realized it wasn't happening anymore.

as you know, i haven't gotten a single email at this point.  I'm new and was just waiting on my authentication emails.  I still haven't gotten one...  Its a simple setting, i'm sure.  I've been through this on different forums that I admin.

i know i have sent out several PM's and have gotten no response back. i figured it was cause the people were ignoring me.. hehehehe..

I wish it was that easy.  Some people are still getting emails.  Many are not.

yeh, i've had some trouble too.

logged in, got the notification box saying i had a mesage or two, clicked the "open in other window"... got dumped back to the home page.

second time, no notification, just a darkened/ boldened PM number in the left column.

That doesn't sound like an email problem.  First time I've heard of something like that.  Does that happen to anyone else?

Can anyone tell me that they are indeed getting forum emails?  I know some people are as new registrants need to respond to an email.  Some get it, some don't (I've gotten a few emails asking why they didn't get a registration email).

Basically, we (Bill) forgot to back the Wiki up when we made the server swap last year.  If we want the wiki back we're going to have to start over.

I looked into the e-mail problem a bit.  It seems we're having issues with sendmail, the linux mailing program.  I saw a few potential fixes listed on some smf forums, but they don't seem to have helped.
