Scotty Orca Rod Holder

Any one used/using the Scotty Orca rod holder? I just ordered a few to replace my standard bait/spin rod holders and wondering what people think.

I had issues with getting the rod out of the standard bait/spin rod holder in a timely manor. The Orca is supposed to be the fastest release available.

I fiddled around with them and decided to pass.  With these types of holders you need to be able to pull straight up.  That's a hard thing to do in a seated kayaking position.

I'm planning on the Folbe for both my Yak and drift boat based on comments I've got from friends and other anglers.

I got a few of the Orca holders in at the shop. They're definately beefy. You have to grab the rod with both hands and pull it straight out....I'm not sure how well this will work on the yak, but I'll play around with them and let y'all know how it goes.

i've used the Folbe's on a friends boat, i love 'em.  They're a bit sticky at first he said, but they break in nicely
