I'm planning on heading over to Seal Rock tomorrow, 6/6. Hope to put in at the park around 7:30 AM if anyone's interested.

Whoops... Just when I think my weekend schedule is set I get caught by a sneaker chore. Sunday is now the day. For sure this time.

crazyhammer: Yup. We're almost within shoutin' distance. Lemme know if you ever want to car pool to the coast. I've also been wanting to find a  partner to scope out the upper Willy sturgeon. I tried it once back in March and caught a 32" shaker up by the Long Tom confluence, so they're in there. I'm hoping to hit it with more gusto in the fall. Interested?

well yeah! I'll go.  To be honest I have never heard of any dinos in this area.  We'll have to check it out for sure, maybe get out sometime and scout out some places.  Just keep in mind I dont have a clue when it comes to sturgeon.

How'd you guys do down there?  I had to take a drift boat down to Waldport that we used for Kids Fishing Day on Saturday.  And, I was pretty beat.  Otherwise, wanted to join you.

2 rocks and an undersized ling. I didn't last too long -- the swell was enough to bring on the queasiness after a couple of hours. I did learn something about the area. Rather than launching at the park as I did (what a crappy access with a yak in tow) and shooting through the narrow channel betwixt the rocks, there's parking and beach access about .5 mile north with easy beach access. Oh, well. Next time.

Been wanting to meet up with you again over there FS.  Be nice to get out with someone who knows the area.

I take it you launched in the cove at the south end of the park. I checked that spot out awhile back, and decided that the trail was a little to steep, especially at the end where it's eroded. I would like to try fishing there sometime, and if there's better access, that's even better! I would rather paddle than have to drag my yak up from that cove.

It's flat as glass today.  I'm thinking about heading out soon.

Figures. My timing has never been optimal.

The coming weekend looks like it has potential. Anyone up for Saturday if the forecast holds?
