Thank goodness for the new fork length regulation on sturgeon..

For AOTY, that fish would be longer than 44.  AOTY measurements are to the tip of the tail.

And that fish looks longer than 44 as the tip of the nose appears off the cardboard.

Nice fat fish too!!!

oh dudes, i showed Zee's pic of him reachin into the mouth of the dino today at lunch to my boss and Joe almost wet himself..

i am slowly starting to suspect that he'd jump into yak fishing given a good day on the water catching fish.. especially something like a larger sturgeon..

I can't remember when and where we made the decision on this, but we made the AOTY rules consistent with the WDFW/ODFW regulations and we also made sure the points where bumped up a bit.   I'll try and find the PM/Admin message about this one, but Zee should back me up on this.  Here is how it is currently stated in the AOTY rules.

Quote
2. Photographic evidence of fish size (total length for most species, for sturgeon use fork length) must be provided. For sturgeon, in the absence of a photo of the fish against a measuring device, a photo of the fish against an object of known size along with measurement that is witnessed and verified by another person in the pool will suffice.

Yep. Did that earlier in the year. Better to have all the regs and AOTY measurements jibe and bumped up points accordingly.

Good thing for the Nog too!  It looks like there are several points missing from that Dino's tail.

So I decided that since the wife had class tonight and the kids where with Grandma that I would go out and try to duplicate Zee and NY's adventure.  Didn't quite work out. ??? Nothing but a bunch of bull heads.  I must not be on the honey hole or something.... could be a number of things.  I'm not giving up though, I plan to head out to give it another shot this weekend for sure!
