that might be a good idea!  i own and operate a packaging and shipping store and just happen to have, oh, about 500 yards of the stuff laying around.  ;D  it'll be cheap to try it out anyway. thanks for the idea!

Owen's Beach is the main recreation beach in Point Defiance Park near the zoo.  just follow the road past the zoo and follow the signs.  it's a nice pea gravel/sand beach to launch from.  on most days, the only thing you have to watch for is the wake from the Vashon ferry and boat traffic running out to Point Defiance to fish.

i'll let you know if/when we go.  looks like the weather isn't going to be all that great and the GF is a fair weather paddler.  :)

Nice ride!!!  I need to paddle one of the new ones.

I can't decide if I want to win the 2010 AOTY in a Tarpon or a Hobie.   >:D

Congrats Bobby.  I know you've been "doing the research" for a while now.  The payoff in the end sure feels good.  I'll let you in on another secret ... it's just going to get better from here on out!!!

That depends on whether you dream paddling or pedaling  ;)

The only AOTY I ever won the A didn't stand for angler...................

Nice looking boat!  Sundays aren't good days for me to get out, but I'd pedal over and say hi if you're out some other time. Get that thing in the water!  Chris

thanks Allen & Spot.  i started looking into it about a year ago (and lurking here) but was kinda wishy washy over it for a long time since it meant i had to sell my motorcycle.  took me a while to realize that the bike was turning into more of a stress inducer than a stress reliever which is what i bought it for and a kayak looked like just the ticket to take on that role.  it'll allow me to get out fishing without having to put up with the combat fishing on the Puyallup during a pink year too.  not to mention the exercise will be nice.

i think the odds of catching some kings is higher in the salt than in the Puy anyway. and of course, there will be plenty of pinks to fill the smoker with.

can't wait to get out on the water.  still need a wetsuit, net and FF.  time to go shopping this weekend.

Bobby

Well, since nobody's said it yet:  Welcome to the Cure!

Allen's right, it's just going to get better from here.

thanks!  and if you're ever up this way, you're welcome to take the Ride for a spin.  i'm hoping to get it on the water tomorrow or maybe even later tonight.  i'll give a highly uneducated and very biased report when i do  :D
