blah blah blah, i dig it, here's the pics....

just got home.  went a cheaper route for saddles and got the Thule 881's.  they're, uh, ok.  i think i'll modify them to fit the hull better but they held solid all the way home.

and the boat itself, out of it's element.

full report and review on the boat as soon as i get it on the water.  hopefully Sunday.

can't wait to get it bloody!

Nice yak. It's interesting that it has the 09 hatches but not the tracks or new seating system etc.

good looking kayak though.

this isn't the Tarpon.  it's the Ride 135.  a little wider than a Tarpon and a different hull design.  it's got the double pontoon style hull that makes it a bit more stable than the Tarpon but also a little slower.  storage hatches are in different places too, but the deck layout is very similar.  i'll flip it over and get some shots of the hull in the next day or two.

it would be easy enough to add the slide tracks to it if you wanted to.

looks like the weather will be decent enough on Sunday to get it wet.  can't wait to try it out!

cool thanks!  i meant to get some shots of that last night but the shadows were getting long and i didn't have enough time.

now i get to figure out what kind of stuff to use for gear.  good ol' milk crate or something else.  time for a little shopping and outfitting.

Ooooo! Shiny! May as well get that one big scratch out of the way on your terms.

Good looking yak... congrats! Very interesting seat design. Is the seat bottom removable from the yak?

i already put little scratch on the hull at the bow when i loaded it.  nothing major though.  just a little nick.

the seat bottom can be taken out.  it's held in with little plastic push rivets. it's not bad but i may get a thicker seat bad because i have a bony butt and it'll probably get uncomfortable after a while.  i'll wait to try it out first.

looking at it just sitting there in the garage in going to drive me nuts until i can get it out on the water.  not that i'm impatient or anything  :P

i'll probably head down to Owen's Beach so the GF can rent a 'yak and come along too.  i'm thinking somewhere around 2pm or so if you want to join us.

i won't be fishing this time.  just putting it through the paces and getting used to it.  shoot me a PM if you want to join us. :)
