Hey polepole or others, if you were to block out a couple key dates for fishing with the folks in NWKA, which ones would it be?  Looks like Portland on April 28-29 for springers, memorial day weekend for halibut, and June???  for Moutcha Bay.  I can't quite tell from the posts but I want to make sure I hold the times if they are firmed up yet.  No worries if things are still up in the air.

One note on springers in Portland... the fishing "seasons" on the Columbia are always in flux.  Maybe check the Ifish message board... they were supposed to close spring chinook fishing this weekend, but rumor has it that it may be extended a bit.

If the Columbia is closed, the Willamette will likely still be open.

I tend to "sticky" the topics in the "Hookups and Reports" and "Events" sections that are dates to be aware of.

The dates you have are somewhat right, except I don't think there is a June Moutch trip being proposed.  There is a Labor Day Moutcha Derby.  In June there is a John Day River trip.

so if you were going to protect a few weekends to go kayak fishing with NWKA folks which ones would they be?  Sounds like memorial day for sure but the Portland paddlepalooza is up in the air at this point.  Unfortunatly I cna't make the John Day trip.

again, no worries if there isn't an answer.  I just have a heck of a time holding my schedule open so am trying to plan in advance this year.

Portland Paddlepalooza ... http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/bb/index.php?topic=266.0.  I will definitely be at the Alder Creek Paddlefest and am definitely looking to fish somewhere on Sunday.
