What do you want to know?   On Saturday Pelagic Paddler and I floated the Molalla River from Canby Park to the Pudding River. Then we paddled up the Pudding River about a mile maybe and then back down to the Molalla.  We continued on out to the Willamette and then took out at the Molalla State Park boat launch.

PP threw small crank baits all day and I messed around with just about everything I had (cranks, spinners, jigs, etc..) until settling on sidedrifting a 3" senko with no weight.  I think a Senko under a bobber would have also worked well.  I managed a bluegill on a small crappie jig, a pike minnow on a mepps spinner and about a dozen 8"-11" bass on the Senkos.  PP got a few less than that but did get one about 15".

I think I have a couple photos on my camera at home.

You know Spot I don't know much about catching largemouth with "striped perch flavored Rapala" either.  ;)

I missed out on this one - was playing a game of kickball (which means beer) when Brian gave me the call w/ heads-up - Birthdays with beer and hot tubs mean late mornings, and the 6am launch time sounded a little to early for me.

Nice day to be on the water, but the fishing was a little slow.  In the past I have always drifted from the town of  Aruroa down the pudding but for the sake of time we decided to put in on the Molalla and drift to the mouth of the Pudding and then paddle up instead. Most of the fish were caught in the Pudding which was as choked with alage as I have ever seen it, made fishing difficult.  In the past (canoe) I have done way better and have had days where it seemed every stump and log held a fish, but in the past  there was a lot less salad in the water (ag runoff??), and a guy didn't have to clean weeds every cast ::), man it was a pain! Over all a fun float with good company and a few small but feisty bass.. And we got to paddle though the wakeboard ski boat extravaganza on our way back to the dock on the willy, even got buzzed by a friendly fellow on a jet ski >:D

Is it sad that most of my AOTY points have come on my ol'Caper this year?   It's a great little river kayak.

Evidently the fish don't care about all the cool features like the sonar shield and rod pod on my T13.  Actually, it's more of the fact that I'm lazy and I can throw the Caper in the back of the truck in about 2 secs while the T13 requires a lot more effort to strap to the top of my truck.

It ain't the kayak that catches the fish. It seems to be a great, lake, ocean, bay etc. etc. kayak too. I think you should rock that badboy full time.

I did for about three years.  I tell you what Zee, I'll do it again if you give up the Adventure and rock the i9s full time.

I love that I can stand and sight fish and the i9s makes a great river yak but... point taken. It's just taking some time to get used to seeing you on the T.
