I got up early Friday morning and hit Mercer Lake. The goal was to try for some bass. The fish were there, but weren't biting. I talked to a guy fishing from his dock, and he told me that the great number of bait fish in the water had put the bass off of their bite. You could see vast schools of little bass swimming by. While I was talking to him, several bass jumped, including one right in front of the dock!

I decided to give up on the bass, and head for my secret spot at the back of the lake and try for some trout and perch. I tied up to my favorite snag, and started catching perch. After a few hours, I caught two nice holdover trout back to back. Over all, I took home 12 keeper perch and the two trout. A nice day on the lake!
