Hauled the yak down to the Surprise Valley of far northeastern California and up a long and rocky road to a small lake in the Warner Mountains. In one short stretch I caught 14 fish 10 to 14 inches -- brook, brown and rainbow -- on dry flies. They really hammered the blue duns and elk-hair caddis.
I was having too much fun to take any photos, and released all my fish, but here's the yak:

sweet, sweet glassy water.  nice.  looks like a nice spot to spend a day or two....
