Whipping it out is one thing if you have the hardware.  What the heck do the girlies do?  :dontknow:

They use a freshette with a lowered front relief zip so they can pee like a guy.

we sell them.

You can kind of train your bladder for kayaking. When I get in my yak my bladder shuts off more or less. can go 6-8 hours without a pee.

I think you get a knack for regulating your water intake vs. outflow.

#2 on the other hand.....had a few close calls with that after some bad food choices. Nothing instills panic like being in a dry suit in a kayak 5 miles from shore with the sh*ts.

No advice there except that at some point you may have to make the decision to soil your $1000 dry suit :D

One idea I have had for both male and female is a large syringe.  Something around 50ml.  Pull out the plunger, perhaps snip the needle port back a bit to enlarge the exit hole.  A tube can be attached.  Men just insert, women can press it tight.  Just a thought I might experiment with in the shower.  Still need a relief zipper.

This kind of scares me.  :-\

Freshette could also be used by a balance challenged dude on a cold day I guess. or even a regular old plastic funnel directing flow into a gatorade bottle would work well you wouldn't have to move a bunch to get it right.

what about a funnel w/ hose into a gatorade bottle in the rod pod or center hatch? then you have gravity and all the right angles.

Bottom line is you are going to get some drip in/on your suit & boat, but who really cares? You smell like fish guts right?

If you have a buddy with you they can always stabalize your boat so you can pee over the side...or hang your rear over and send a couple of floaters out in an emergency.

Don't pee or poop in fresh water please. get to shore. and only poop in salt if it's life or death!

Saw in sports wholesale the other day it looked like a ... say a female anatomy shaped funnel that then could either attatch a tube and over the side or a scupper hole. or the gatoraid bottle.

I am kind of like Demonick when i go out when its cold with a long underware layer under the dry pants. kind of hard to peel all those off to gian access

Howdy all,

I was wondering what people's suggestions are for taking a leak while out on the water.  Assuming you are wearing a drysuit with a relief zipper, and the coffee and bottle of water you had before launching has caught up with you.

Kneel on the boat and try and aim over the side, while not falling off?  condom catheter, with tube routed over side?  Hold it till your eyeballs are swimming?

Gatorade bottle + reliefe zip = e-z-p

I bet you don't buy the lemon-lime flavor..

well, I got to test it out this morning.  Shortly after steelheadr packed it in, I needed to go.  relief zipper, aim over port, rinse boat thoroughly.

I think I pretty much have that one figured out now. ;)

Whats wrong with starboard? ;D

I had 3 kids in 3 and 3/4 years.  I never get to go far enough away or be gone long enough to worry about it  ;)

Ouch! Not to mention insuffiecient capacity  :-\

See the link below for a MUCH more comfortable male solution. If you don't want to compromise the your dry suit or waders, the bag it comes with works GREAT. You really don't have to ask. (and it comes in a variety of sizes)

Says the 33 year old ::)

I'll be impressed when you can say that in 20 years. ;D

relief zipper ... aim for a scupper hole.  Make sure gear is not of the side you are aiming for ...  :o

Get real guys, it's all a matter of priorities. What's more important, peeing or fishing!

Actually, when I'm not in a wetsuit, I just kneel and use a ziploc baggie. In the wetsuit, the teeth have on occasion swam! I need to get a relief zipper installed!

The syringe is not meant as a holding jar - it has a hole at the bottom!  It is just a tight funnel, an extender if you will.

I didn't think of it as storage. I meant the funnel was too small. :-\
