We are vacationing on Oahu Oct 21-28th.  Does anyone have a referral for SOT rentals, kayak fishing (can be guided) and or just kayak touring around Oahu?

Get ahold of Boogie-D on the north shore at http://www.coastalkayaktours.com/aboutusindex.html

He'll take care of you.

Thanks for the referral.  I have checked out Coastal Kayak Tours web site but it helps to have a contact.  I also checked Aquahunters site but they say they are already booked for a year and are looking for additonal staff.  Business is good!

How about referrals for Maui.  I am likely to be there for a few weeks in Jan, Feb, or March.

Guys, as polepole said, Boogie-D on Oahu, ( NorthShore) and join the aquahunters forum. by doing so you get access to tons of information they keep out of the public eye, to include listings for guide and rental services among all the islands. and you will not regret joining. just like here they are very friendly people with warm open hearts. trust me i've just gotten back from there and both the fishing and the people are fantastic.  and, no, i can't say enough good about how David ( Boogie-D) , Trina, and the crew treat you. to say you get a bargain for what you pay them if you go the guided route, is an understatement.

Hobie dealer on Oahu is Windward Boats, ask for Lorraine,  and they work in tandem with Boogie-D and his crew at CKT.

Yak rentals on Oahu if you want to do this yourself; McCully Bike on McCully and Go Bananas on Kapahulu, both in Waikiki. And yes there are others listed, but i didn't bring a Honolulu phone book home with me. ::)

Tackle on Oahu; Sand Island access road off Nimitz Highway has West Marine, 5 Oceans 7 Seas, and Pacific Ocean Producers. oh, and don't forget Wally World. one in Pearl City, one in Honolulu co-located with the Sams Club, one out in Millilani Town Center. ( good places there to eat too) those are the ones i know of.

Farther out toward Pearl Harbor/ Pearl City, in the Aiea area , it's Roys Tackle.

sorry can;t give you much support on Maui. but, you might be able to ask Boogie-D by email [ guides@coastalkayaktours.com ]

Quillback; where are you staying?
