I know its late notice, but decided that since the winds are much calmer than yesterday, I'd head up to Hagg. Figure I'll be there by 1130 to target trout and bass. If anything I need to make sure I can stay dry and warm enough before sturgeon tomorrow.

I dunno bro. I live 10 mins from Hagg and it's windy with horizontal rain right now at my place.  I'm sure it isn't much better at Hagg.

Good luck, you should have the lake to yourself for the most part.  :-\

Yeah, just pulled into Hillsboro to find the weather opposite of what it was at home. Oh well! On the water soon!

Good, I know who to call know for lake weather reports.

I live about a mile from the base of the coast range, and I can't even see it today.  Clouds are really low and kinda pissed off.

Launching was made fun with the wind and chop prefering to keep me on the launch, but a bit of back paddling and a couple shove offs from the dock put me out and paddling freely. Well, as freely as I could with the stiff head wind.

Started off with the usual troll to the dam. Was looking forward to getting down behind the rocks and under the wind. Trolling a small Shad pattern rapala landed the first fish of the day, an average Hagg smallmouth.

I continued trolling the rapala across the dam and upto the now very exposed sunken island. From here I tied on my favorite kastmaster and continued on the troll.  With the wind now at my back, I did little paddling and ate lunch.

Just as I finished my sandwich my rod doubled over. I grabbed, gave it a tug, and no one was there. Dang it. I tipped my lure with a bit of powerbait and went back at it.

Drifting along the Sain Creek area there was another knock at the door. A lil swing and I brought in a nice lil stocker. Get another quick pic and send him back on his way. Back in the water he just sat there and looked at me. I tickled his side a bit and he took off, rapidly skipping across the top of the water for 12 feet before taking a dive.

I followed along the drift right up to the fishing dock before some bigger rains and winds came along. I went ahead and made the turn and headed back to the launch. Not even another bite after that.

Had fun out there though. I'll get the pica posted when I get home...
