I'm afraid this is about the only type of report you'll be seeing from me lately.  Yet another installment of "Brian and Owen Hit Hagg".

We arrived at the lake about 4 pm and fished until sunset.  We managed a nice window in the weather, no rain and no wind. With no other boats out the lake was absolutely flat and we could see fish hit the surface on occasion.  I kind of wish I had my fly rod, but with Owen in the kayak that would have been difficult.   We trolled down the the dam and back from Ramp A and picked up most of our six trout on the way back in the last 40 minutes of fishing.  The first two trout were about 12 inches long and they decreased in size with each new fish.

Typically we troll around the lake with our rods in rod holders and when we get a take down I pull the rod out of the rod holder and pass it off to Owen.  However on our second to last fish of the evening I was paddling along and Owen suddenly got excited and grabbed his rod out of the rod holder by himself.  I hadn't noticed the take down. ;D  Actually, on several of the take downs I heard the splash of the trout jumping behind us before I saw the rod bending.

Here are some pics.

Don't be afraid, that looks awesome to be able to get out with your boy and catch fish.  I'm jealous.  The best I have been able to do in the last year was get my 4 year old out on the Tualatin River and not catch any fish.  At least he still wants to keep on trying  :).

You don't have to apologize for letting us share in a great day with your son.  That is some Quality time spent!

You timed it perfectly.  No traffic, smooth paddling, a good bite and an awesome sunset.  Hagg in the off season can be magic.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

It's all so beautiful and thanks for sharing the pics.  I miss those days when my kids were still that little.
