How long will live sandshrimp live in the bait container?

How long will live sandshrimp live in the bait container?  I bought some Wednesday night with the intention of sturgeon fishing Thursday.  Unfortunately, real life got in the way and I have not made it out yet.  I have kept them refrigerated and they are still alive today.

If they're still alive, you're in business.

If you need for them to last another couple of days, just take them out and give them a rinse then replace the material at the bottom of the container with fresh.  It's the urea they excrete that kills them after a while in the container.

PS  Wash your hands well when you handle sandshrimp.  If one dies and you handle it, you can get food poisoning easily by carrying the contaminant to your food or your mouth.
