I'll be giving a new and improved Intro to Kayak Fishing seminar at the Seattle Boat Show on Feb 3rd at 7 PM. The seminar will cover basic gear, safety, and kayak fishing techniques. It'll be free to those attending the boat show and I may be able to get a few free passes so if you're interested let me know. Come on down to check all the shiny boat bling and fishing gear... Then let's talk kayak fishing!

I can demonstrate how to stand on a private dock and pull my arse off on the anchor line and wonder why the heck I can't break that tiny friggin zip tie.

Seriously though Zee.  Thanks for being such an advocate for the sport.  Good work.

Awesome Zee!  Way to represent.  So is this a Hobie specific, NWKA or just general representation?

Any thought into having a booth at the Sportsmans's show when its here in PDX.  Maybe drum up some interest and new blood for the sport locally.  Or is it to much $ and hassle/time for the end result?

There are a lot of die hard fanatical salmon/steelhead/saltwater fisherman in the area that with a little info and a nudge would totally go for yak fishing.  A 20ft jet sled is perfect for some fisheries and a 12 ft yak is perfect for others, getting some of the "sled guys" to figure this out would be cool..

We've looked into it before.  The booths are expensive, especially for an outfit like NWKA which isn't a money making endeavor.  The best way would be to tag onto an existing booth in some fashion.  I did the Seattle Boat show 3 years ago and had space at the Scotty booth.  Zee had space at the Hobie Cats NW booth last year.

Hmmm ... any kayak shops have a booth at any of the Sportsmans shows?  Or any fishing shops that carry kayaks (like Outdoor Emporium or Sportsman Warehouse) that may be interested in something like this?  I've seen NuCanoe at the Sportsman's shows before, but no other manufacturer.
