I have lots of 1 1/2" round steel tubing for the bars for putting kayaks on if anyone is fabbing a trailer.  Unfortunately, I had and avalanche of two foot thick frozen snow slide off my roof last year (2008) on Christmas day and crush the canopy that was covering my boat along with part of the boats windshield. Its amazing how much snow a boat can hold. :o I used this tubing for my trailer and it works great.

here is a shot of the trailer.

I just need to get the components powder coated or painted.  The trailer is a Snow Bear Utility trailer.

Also, electrical conduit pipe works great and is cheap.  I bought some from Home Depot for approximately $5-6 for a 10 foot piece.  I used the 1" so my Yakima Kayak cradles could be utilized on the trailer.

Yeah the last one with the wooden Kayaks is nice.  The T bar configuration is exactly what I'm thinking (Just higher up)  I don't think I need a fully fabbed box up front.  I think a cage that will accept two of the large gorilla boxes will be fine.  I'm thinking about adding a section about 2' long to my tongue and having 6, 1 1/2" X 8"  tube   sections welded around the  outside for adding a cutting board, BBQ, work bench later ;D

So the cage, 2 T-bars, tongue  and tube pieces...

Pm and let me know how much that will set me back.
Thanks,
Brian

Jonah, how much would you charge me to modify this and make it in all black?  Make all the white letters and the canoe black and not a bumper sticker.

That shouldn't be a problem at all. Do you want the letters cut out individually, or all joined together?

Jonah:  Individually good sir.

Brian:  Let me know how much that trailer costs you when it's done (total)  My little Civic isn't cutting it with myself and the kids on trips anymore.  I got used to the space a Trailblazer had, then went for fuel economy and now I'm hurting for space!

Lee,
I'm at about $550 (8X6 flat trailer with spare wheel-tire, registration and 4 kayaks worth of Yakima sandshark saddles w/ hardware). INSAYN wont be able to take on the welding cause he's swamped. my guess right now is that it should be in the neighborhood of $800 once complete.  Unless I can BARTER my way into another welder????

(Still looking for welder)
Brian

Hey Yarjammer I am on the Kitsap Pensinula in Seabeck. I'm just getting into this whole thing (don't have any kayaking gear yet) so I am open to bartering with gear, beer or just plain old cash ;D
