Howdy all,

Been a while since I posted much of my own thread - been busy with work, and haven't gotten on the kayak since october  :-\

Anyway, I am planning on gearing up for the Spring Chinook run, as well as possibly hitting up the Nehalem or some of the rivers out by Tillamook in the near future.

So, my primary question is not about gear, but about where the feeshes may be.  I know that the area under the Sellwood Bridge is fair game for the spring nook run, but is there a spring run through Tillamook bay as well?

Cheers,
Madoc

Our run is quite a bit later than the runs from the big river. Mid-May is the earliest for a fair chance at fish, with June prob the best bet. There's not a ton of springers to fish for here, but the Trask and Nestucca have clipped fish. I haven't personally had any success fishing the bay for springers, but they have to go through there to get to the river. I've got a few spots to try out this year in the kayak, maybe this will be the year it happens for me! Man, I can't wait, I love springers. Nothing better than a shiny twenty lb'er in a tiny little creek, light spinning gear, whooo hooo!
