Sad but your right..I would probably only use it in camping mode.  Looking online (ebay), it seems like you can get a nice one for recharging a deep cycle for under $100.  or DIY kits for under $50.

Is there a such thing as Kayak/camping trailer obsession disorder???

actually, that solar idea is pretty slick. power to charge small items, and used with a properly managed and regulated storage array, it could power a set of LED light strings at night for the camp, too.
think about all the things you're adding onto this trailer.. the word "utility" has taken on a whole new meaning.
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

My wife is now calling it the "space shuttle"  haha    I think I'll call it quits when I start thinking about adding 10'  pontoons and a 8 hp outboard.

PP any updates on your trailer?  Any pics of your final product?

I picked up my axle, springs and spring hanger kit on Wednesday and plan to pickup the frame material this week. Hope to start getting this cut, squared up and glued together.

Almost 95% done!  Putting the saddles on and wrapping up the small details.  Progress has slowed a tad since the fishing has improved dramatically in my neighborhood ;D.  I'll shoot for a few pics by the end of the week.
