However, Im not very experienced and have some gear. Need help in what is the right gear (clothing for sit on top). Also live on the west coast need some buddies who are safe and willing to teach!! However I have gone bottom fishing on the Betty Kay will have some pics of my prize fish. Was the first one to get the fish also had the biggest...If you want it they will come!

Mo -
Is that the Betty Kay out of Charleston? Several of the south coast crew fish out of Sunset Bay. Send me a pm w/ contact info & when conditions are right, you're welcome to join us.

Mo,

The Sunset Bay / Coos Bay area guys are a good bunch.  Sunset bay is a sweet ocean launch.  You should like it.  Have fun -

I'm always looking for fishing partners!  I'm down here in Gold Beach and haven't fished up north yet but would love to be shown the spots.

I'm relatively jobless too so when that ocean lays down I'm there!

Looking at some overhead views from your area it looks like you won't need to go very far at all to find some prime spots. :-* Have you tried out any areas close to Gold Beach area? I'd be interested to hear about them if you've given the area a try!

 White Thunder..
Lots of good fishing in your aera, There is a reason for that though,,, Shallow bar, Really watch the tides /swell ect..  i don't think the north wind ever stops blowing there . Also be aware of the water temp. from Cape Blanco to St George.. The up-well from a north current (summer time) will have the water in the med to high 40's on the beach.. So dress for immersion!!!
Port Orford has easy  launch and close fishing, lots of coves south of you on low swell days, fishey aera.
Looked at Sunset Bay last nite, murky water, still the odd 7-8 min.  large coming in..
