I lost my dad-gummed anchor just the other day... SO where has everybody been purchasing thier anchors?  I'm hoping to pick up a 1.5# or 3# folding anchor locally, without shipping.  Or has everyone mostly relied on internet purchase for anchors together with shipping expense?

I've been loving my 8lb mushroom anchor.

My folding anchor took and extra 5lbs of chain to get it to stick and regularly got snagged.  The mushroom has been very good for both bite and retrieval in the Willamette.

My net bag of rocks does very well, and it is adjustable in weight too.

I got a couple of 5 lb folding anchors at west marine.  The one I used on the Willamette a couple weeks ago held so well I struggled to unsnag it ::).  Apparently the zip tie I was using was stronger than me. But, the price at west marine was competitive.

+1 for the 8lb. mushroom.

I haven't had too much use out of it, but it works great!

+2 for the 8# mushy
i've gone through, well, plenty of other options this winter.  The 8# is the one that I've been able to keep after some high water on the Willamette (100+k cfs on the first test).

+3 for the 8# toadstool. I used one on my old 13' Sportspal canoe...I fabbed up a bowsprit with an anchor drop (pulley with cam) so I could lower and raise it with one hand, and it always held fast.
One day I swapped it to my Don Hill mini-drifter for lake fishing, and forgot to wire the clevis, and it unscrewed itself somehow while it was swinging back and forth beneath the anchor drop while under way, and that dang anchor just fell off! ???
I might have to get another one. That was the best little anchor I ever had!

Found on the shore at Hagg Lake immediately after loosing my folding anchor.  ;D
Life's funny aint it?

You should be able to find them at any marine shop, outdoor store or anywhere you'd find drift anchors or folding anchors.

I believe Bi-Mart has them, as does Dicks.

Might get lucky and find them at GI-Joes again.

Not very good news availability on Cat Island in the Bahamas.  :(
