Just wandered through our Forest Grove Bi-Mart, where they have recently remodeled the store to match many of the other stores.  They have increased their lure selection, as well as freezer/fridge selections.  Noticed that they now stock live sand shrimp.  The freezer was chuck full of squid, herring, smelt, anchovies, etc...

Same deal for the Hillsboro store near the Sunset Esplanade.

This time last year, my only option for live shrimp was Joes, and that was well out of my way to meet up with BSteves for some sturgeon on the Willy.

How much do they charge for their little pets?  I can hike a half mile one way to a mudflat where I can punch out at least three dozen in about an hour or less. I use 'em for hatchery Steelhead fishing when I don't have roe, and for Surf Perch, Cabezon, and Greenling.  Its a nice walk out on the flats, too.
My little pets helped me procure a nice 11.5" Red tail Surf Perch fishing in the surf, and a 12" Kelp Greenling fishing from a jetty last weekend. The fishing was slow. I did impale and drown each and every one of the little buggers in an heroic attempt to give some meaning to their lowly lives. No, I did not leave them languishing in their bucket to merely die in a stinkin soup of their own waste...but honored their formerly meaningless existence by giving them purpose! >:D
