yeah looks like conditions are deteriorating. I'm thinking of hitting tillamook south jetty inside on Sunday.

The wind finally died down this evening, it's dead calm now, about 10 pm thurs. night. The swell was looking much nicer as the sun was going down, prob. 6-7 and supposed to drop overnight. If anyone is going out tomorrow the early morning might be decent, but I'd expect the wind to pick up by 10 or so.

It's looking more like MC and Hagg Lake this weekend for me  :P

grr...  I was jazzed to finally be able to get out an launch from PC, and then I went and strained my obliques early in the week.  Damn stoopid muscles.

Well, if anyone gets out there today, catch some fish and post a report.

Looks like Sun will be blowing too hard for good fishing. If I go at all at this point it will be the Tillamook S. Jetty inside on Monday.

Made it out today, friday, from oceanside at about 10:30.  I like to sleep in when I can.  Not a bad launch at all, just timed the breakers.  The cool thing about oceanside this time of year is you can actually fish in and around the rocks.  Only caught one large black in that area, but it was fun to paddle through the arches.  Bald eagles, sea lions, porpoises, I think a large spring chinook swam under the boat, and I came home with 3 good blacks, a 26" lingcod, and a greenling.  Sorry, no photos, I was in too much of a hurry to get them filleted and forgot to get a picture of the fish and the day.

Nice one.

I wouldn't call it "this time of year" last week was pushing 20ft, and it will be above 10ft and blowing 20+ on Sunday by the time I get there. I'd call it more like, "these random days" when the ocean is calm. :) Usually we don't get "this time of year" until July and August. 4.5ft and 6mph wind is pretty rare for OR in March.

I think what he was referring to was the regs. Before May 1st you can fish in and around the rocks at Oceanside, after that there is something like a 500 ft buffer zone in place around the rocks.
But I will agree with you J, this time of year, it is pretty tough to find days as nice as that!

No need for pics, just a report on a good day fishing is all I need.  Nice job!

Nice work getting out there and bagging some fish! I should've gone to the coast, I ended up fartin' around on the Willi instead.  :BangHead:
