Picked up an Olympus Tough Series 6020 last night.  So far the features look pretty neat.  14 Megapixel photos, 5x optical zoom, waterproof to 5 meters, impact proof from 1.5 meter drops, dustproof, dual image stabilization, AND 720p HD video with widescreen (or 1080i)

Hopefully I'll get some field testing in this weekend.

I've got a 6000 that I'm pretty happy with.  It's great for yak fishing 'cause I can just stick it in my lifevest pocket and not worry about it.

The downside is that it takes forever to focus and is doesn't handle low light very well.  Still makes it OK for yak fishing or snowboarding but I use a different camera for anything with fast action or low lighting.

After using the camera several times, I have to say I love it.

Great Pictures (after learning how to use the settings)

AWESOME video quality

I only had focusing issues when I was using the wrong settings.

What about the audio that is captures along with the video? Is it decent?
Also, what format does it create the video files in?

I can check those things for you.

I've been unable to get a mini-HDMI cable to hear the true audio.  On my computer it sounds fine, but I don't have the Denon with 7.1 hooked up to my computer   :P

As for format, the Quicktime player started up automatically.

Actually, their website shows MP4 format for video.  1080i, 720p, 480p

Still haven't checked the audio (for some reason the HDMI output from my TV isn't jiving with my receiver, and I didn't feel like pulling out the whole setup just to hear the audio)

BUT, hooked the video up to the 52" HDTV and it looks great.  It does require having an adapter for mini HDMI to HDMI, but those are pretty cheap.

Lee,

Any more feedback on the 6020? Are you still happy it? I've been considering that one for a while and I'm about to go for it. Please let me know if anything has popped up that bugs you.

Thanks again,

Scott
