Reports, and the Cowlitz fisheries website indicate that Steelhead action in the Cowlitz is great right now.  Lots of people catching and over 600 Steelhead returned last week.

Weather reports aren't the best, but they are doable for fishing Cowlitz, or some area lakes.

Anyone up for something in the Cowlitz or Puget Sound area?  I'd even be up for some Alder Lake Kokanee hunting.

Don't forget, you will need a new license starting tomorrow!  If you don't have one, you can get it through the WDFW website or a local vendor.

Wind and weather look iffy, so tomorrow I might try a small nearby lake that was recently stocked. It should be sheltered enough for fly casting. I'll be trolling a leech or bugger, too, if I go. Sylvia. Up behind Monte. Its a small, narrow lake, just a dammed up small creek within a State Park. I don't usually fish this lake, but there's only a 50% chance of showers forecast for there tomorrow, and other lakes I know look maybe to be windier.  Next chance for lighter winds, less chance of precip, and lake fishing after that, I think, is next Wednesday. I was all set up to head out to a lake yesterday, but the wind was up, and a friend offered me a good sofa for free, which I had to go get.
I sat down on it to do a comfort test and woke up at midnight. Sofa passed the test, but I missed out on the fishing! ;D
One of these days, I'll make it back to the water!

Looks like the best time for fishable wind at Sylvia will be late this afternoon, from 5pm til dark...forecast to be about 9 mph from the SSW. Don't know if I'm gonna make it, but I still might go.

Edit: NOPE! All my fishing today is Cancelled! Raining hard here now. Fuggettaboudditt!

Next lake fishing opportunity for me after this evening might not be until next friday. I might head up the the N Hood Canal T or W and try to fish for searun cutts, and then try to find some oysters on the beach at low tide late in the afternoon. Not sure yet.
