breakdown paddle 4 piece

I bought a used spare paddle at D&B NA but it won't get into my belly. I thought about using my co-op dividend on a 4 piece paddle. Performance is of little concern, because if I'm breaking out my back up I'm probably heading for land, unless I'm close by someone w/another spare. I'm looking for durability. I'm not sure if shaft composition matters more than joint stiffness. I would think flex is bad. Those do it yourself breakdown kits look kind of sketchy. Anyone that has experience w/these I'd love to hear from them. Below seem to be the options available at "RE-aye".

I have 1 Lendal caron shaft FG blade kinetic tour 600 4 piece. The pieces are locked together with an allen key.

It's very high quality, but Lendal is out of business, so we're blowing them out. Prices is normally $480. It's on sale for $190.

I've seen those Lendal paddles and they are/were very nice quality, and thanks for the suggestion. I was looking for something where if I had a deep water huli that somehow snapped my paddle leash, I didn't want to have to make that call between swim for my paddle, or swim for my boat. I went with the cheap sting ray, and I hope to hell I never have to use it. It feels a little bit like those "shake weights" from the infomercial. Incidentally they use the same 4 piece conversion components (those slide in spring clips) that anybody can buy. Their cut & glue job is better than most could obtain at home I'm guessing. I just couldn't see myself puling out an allan wrench in a panic.

Those 600's ... which size do the compare to the older Kinetic naming convention, the S or the non-S?  Either way, those are great paddles at a great price.  I have 1 each of the S and the non-S and I love them!!!  To me, the S is a more standard size, while the non-S is more oversized.

I loke those Aquabound Stingrays for inexpensive paddles...with the FG shaft and nylon blade. I used one for several years, even ran over it with my truck. It lasted another 6 months before it exploded in my hands.

The 600 is like the S but a slightly different shape. You're right though. the 600 is kind of inbetween a high and low angle size, the 700 is more like high angle..bigger surface area. Great paddles, just not making them anymore.
