I have a heavy nylon canoe cover that will fit a 13' to 14' square stern canoe, that I don't use any more. I'm only saving it in case I get another 13' to 14' square stern canoe again. Its good for keeping dirt and rain out when trailering.

I store my boats in my locked garage, except for my fiberglass mini-drifter right now, which is ugly looking and in need of some repairs, so I have it out where I can get to work on it.

I can lock my yaks or canoes to my roof racks (which are locked to my roof) with a bicycle cable lock. This might slow down the opportunistic spontaneous thief, but it wouldn't stop a pro with cable cutters. I think my yaks might be covered by my homeowner's policy, even if they are stolen from the top of my rig, since they are just plastic toys (sort of "sporting goods," eh?) and not "real boats," right? (Yeah, right! :D)  I'll have to check on that!

I plan i doing that too, it looks like bike locks will fit easily threw the scupper holes. and I'm going to get a few of stickers :)

Yep, I run the cable thru the scuppers or around a thwart (canoe).

Funny stickers.
I'm too old to fight anymore, so I'd prefer the second one, just in case.  >:D

Old and crafty beats young and stupid every time.  Do not discount the element of surprise and the advantage of getting the first whack  :-)
