Hi,

While going through my kayak fishing gear this weekend I came to the conclusion I need a better net for salmon and other big fish.  I originally used a collapsible mesh dive net which worked OK but sometimes the metal wire opening would close at the worst possible time and you have to have the fish right next to the boat.  I bought a cheap triangular folding net with telescoping handle from Outdoor Emporium last year.  I brought the net to Moutcha Bay and the 1st fish I tried to net (22 lb king) I figured out the net was useless.  I have since resorted to just using my dive stringer which works well as long as I can get the fish right up to the yak and I want to keep the fish.  I searched the forum and saw the posts last year on this topic which pretty much echoed my experience.  I noted several brands mentioned including Promar, Stowmaster and Frabil.  Any other brands or specific models of these brands to recommend? Any suggestions on places to buy some of these nets near Seattle?
