Currently I have a nice pole for Salmon/Steelhead drift fishing.  I have a decent pole for trolling.  I have the two pole endorsement for trolling so I want to get another pole that I can use for jigging and trolling.  I don't really want to use my Berkley AIR IM8 for trolling.  I just feel like I'm gonna break the thing when I use it with the DR or when I snag bottom.

Would a medium heavy ugly stick work for this?

Any and all recommendations are welcome!

Yep!  I recently picked up a cheap ugly stick. Its a CAL 1101, 7' 1-pc MH for 10-25lb line, and it works great for jiggin (tried it in only 40' of water with only a 1 oz jig). The action feels OK for trolling, too, and I'll probably use it mooching and trolling for salmon this year, with lighter weights.

Wish I would have gotten a 2-piece, though. Stowing one piece rods is a royal pain in the arse. The handle is a little long for yak fishing, but I fish with this from other boats, too.

After I purchased this rod from a local merchant, I noticed a "saltwater" ugly stick in the local megamart that looked like it would hold up better to intensive saltwater use. Oh well, I'll just rinse mine off after using it in the salt. I'd rather buy from the locally owned smaller outfit than the World's biggest retailer.

I'm going to get a left hand retrieve level wind reel for it, as I've gotten too used to reeling with my left. I'd rather hold my rod with my right. In fact, it really feels strange to hold the rod in my left hand and reel with the right.
Haven't tried it with a 4 oz banana sinker yet, though. My other trolling rod is a tad bit heavier action, and handles 5 oz and a flasher easily, though.  I don't use or need a downrigger fishing in Willapa Bay or Grays Harbor, since the places I fish there aren't deep enough. I think the places I fish in either bay are 40 to 45 feet maximum, with the usual more like 15' to 30'.  Most often weight I use there is a 3 oz banana sinker, going to a 4 oz to get down.
The rod has good action and feel for what I use it for, and will be my main rod for flatline trolling spinners behind a rudder in the Willapa River (targeting Kings and Coho) this Fall. It is also now my main jigging rod for fishing out along the jetty for lings, cabs, and rockfish.

I think Ugly Sticks are solid rods for a reasonable price.

OK, I know that was more than you wanted, but I had too much coffee this morning! Tax day! I always wait to file on the last day, since I have to pay. >:D

That isn't too much info at all.
