The woman changed our plans, and we're spending the weekend in Port Townsend.  I'll be stuck in a cabin on the NW shore of Oak Bay with three chicks for the weekend.

SOOOO, I figure I'll be fishing most of the day Saturday, and should be targeting flounder and possibly Halibut.

I don't know what I'm doing, so I'm gonna pick up some Saltwater Gulp! and some jig heads, and just drift along and bounce stuff off the bottom.

I've fished around PT a couple of times. I think your best bet is flounder, they're all over there. As far as I've found, there's not one rock on the bottom of admiralty inlet or in the immidiate area on the strait around PT.

I've found some good rock structure further W in the strait, but PT is all sand and mud. you should do well with flounder just about anywere you go.

I'd ask Coneheadmuddler for better info. He's around that area.

Can any of them cook?

Nice area to kick back and enjoy. There's a little county park there just E of the S end of Govt Cut that I sometimes like to visit. I usually fly fish for searun cutts from the beach around that area. I haven't fished bait or buzz bombs or jigs around there before, so I can't help you out in that regard.
Have a great time!

I dunno, they looked like lings to me.  I'm no biologist though.

They looked like a miniature of this to me:

After googling a sculpin, I can see that too.
