Looks like The Nothing duplicated the 4 species day today.  I can't wait to get out again and start working on upgrades.

I just noticed that.  Dang, I'm slacking.

Good job to both of you!  The new format should make for an interesting race this year.

I think its awesome an eastsider is kicking butt!  Really quiets the comments about having to drive to find AOTY fish.  Way to go!

Wow, way to go EOB (and TN)! I was thinking we should start a 1000 points club, but based on the single day points that you and TN posted, maybe it should be 1500 or 2000 points... Or maybe the idea sucks... ??

- Karl

PS, EOB, I see that, like me, you still haven't posted a largie yet. Have you targeted them? I finally got out for a few hours last night but it was an exercise in futility. Only one solid pickup on a plastic worm and I swung and missed...  :'(

I am curious, As the tournament progresses will the AOTY program just have the highest point total, of all fish entered, as the leader or will it determine the "actual" leader based on the highest 10 fish average?

Nog, I haven't been Largie fishing yet except to bank fish a new spot.  I will be dropping the yak in there soon though as it was a killer place to fish.  The fish aren't huge but 3 pounders could be caught almost at will.  So a largemouth will be in the near future.  Still have a spot or two in the freezer to fill with Springer before I get back to fun fishing though. ;D

There is just plain "fun" fishing and there is often what I call " fill the freezer" fishing.  If your lucky it all is fun all the time.  But sometimes you just plain have to put up with some of the less than fun stuff (think crowded spring chinook fishing or 800ft deep halibut trips) if you want to eat well all year long.  To me its a lot like coastal Oregon elk hunting, huge parts of it are great fun but other parts, like packing a big bull out of a deeeeep canyon miles from camp loses the "fun" part rather quickly.  Being able to pull a springer fillet or a package of elk sausage out of the freezer anytime I want makes the less than fun days worth it.  Kayak fishing is my "fun" fishing too.

Good question. I hope it shows the actual leader based on that person's top 10 scoring fish.

I'm all about fishing for fun.  If it turns out I catch something that's freezer worthy, then it's a bonus.  I work in seafood, so I don't need the fish to fill the freezer.
