With improving Oregon ocean conditions in the coming months I hope we start seeing some yak caught Oregon white gold!  This is the year for this fishery to break open!

Butts as big as the one caught in the sound don't happen off the Oregon Coast much (if at all any more) but fish in the neighborhood of 100lbs are caught every year!

Big 'But caught near Protection Island last weekend.

Sweet. I've been thinking of giving halibut a go around Whidbey Isl. Heard that was good. Makes sense, it's all sand.

Protection is the island just W of Admirilty Inlet right? on the cove/bay/inlet you drive along from Pt. Townsend to Sequim?
