I wrapped up the Trailer build a few weeks ago but forgot to post some completed pic's.

Two main gear boxes, (9' by 2.5' and 5' by 2.5') 99% waterproof (I'm working on that last 1%)
Long gear box has rod holders to securely hold 4 rods full length
Saddles for 4 yaks
"flat bed" area that will hold one large 110qt or 2 smaller coolers etc.
Front gear box for camping gear etc with Starboard cutting board for fish cleaning bolted (removable for cleaning) on top
New Led lights, bearings and seals with new bearing buddies, no wood used in consturction
All boxes and hitch are lockable with like keyed locks
Would like to add a rack for holding a 5 gal water jug.

That's sweet man.  You could easily add a cage for several 5 gallon water jugs right behind the black box.  What exactly were you thinking of for the water?

Awesome trailer.  It gives me a few ideas for mine. As for now its pretty basic.  Just a trailer with bars on it for 4 yaks.  Hopefully, I can complete it this winter.

Where did you get the materials?

Thanks,
-craig

I just want a five gallon jug of potable water for camping, drinking, etc.  I am thinking right in front of the "short" silver box.  I want to leave the "flat bed" area open for hauling coolers etc.

For clean up I have a retractable 50 ft canvas hose (think tiny fire hose) that spools up into about 2" x 12" x12" package and a connecter that allows me to hook up to any water source threaded or not.  On the end of that a garden fertilizer sprayer (the hose end kind) with a touch of soap in it will make clean up a snap.  Scrounge a water source. hook it up, soap it up and hose it down.

Nice!  Are the racks galv or alum?   Either are perfect for the salt environment.

Do you plan to tow it on sand?

No kidding!   ;D

I'm building a trailer as well, and about 75% done.   It's funny you mentioned baja, as I am building mine with some crazy ground clearance, and strength to handle the washboard roads down there.  It may be a few years before I get the chance to actually get down there, but a group run would be a hoot!

boxes are Aluminum and the trailer frame and crossbars/racks are all galvanized.  Almost all other hardware is either galvanized or stainless

I do plan to pull it on the sand in places like PC (nice hard packed wet sand)  but not planning to strike off across real soft sand anytime soon.

I didn't build it to Baja specs but I could always upgrade ;D  I have a 74 cj5  that I am slowly restoring that would be a great Baja tow vehicle.  If I lived in SoCal I would be all over long weekend trips south of the border to fish.

Yes, indeed! Pelagic Paddler is now my hero. I have similar plans for my yard. Its all still going thru changes.  My new hootch now sits on top of where my old garden was, and I've been thinking of getting some chickens, too. Still tearing down and cleaning up the old 10' X 55' tin cave. Must finish my fence soon, so I'll have a place to post all my "NO TRESPASSING!" signs, and might get a couple of watchdogs to guard the complex while I'm out fishing. (Too many low-lifers around these parts lately, but I guess thats happening everywhere).
I like that trailer a lot. PP you are an master artist!

Of course, that "teardrop" trailer in another recent thread is really sweet, too.
