Schwan's has big thick foil-bubble-foil insulated bags you put on your porch when you are gone that they will put your food in.  They could probably double as a floatation device  ;D

I use the 36" version of this guy

Works awesome doesn't retain smell and since it's a bag inside a bag you can still your lunch in it too lol.
At $80 they aren't cheap but I got mine on closeout when it was still Sportsmans Warehouse for $35.
It's never too late to start procrastinating.

On the topic of cleaning the cooler smell I use hydrogen peroxide when storing and it removes every problem I've ever had with smell/stains/disinfecting. Don't use on metal though, just plastic, and use the 35% with some mix, or not depending on the situation.

Sorry, I missed this thread the first time around....

You must have been the only other guy in Salem besides myself that actually bought one of those! They were there collecting dust up there forever!

I love mine btw. I think I've already mentioned that several times in various boards on this site though.

I just picked up a big yellow dry bag (30" x 22") from Andy and Bax to use for now.  It was only $16, so not a big wallet thumper.

This is a very good idea.  I wouldn't be surprised if you end up using that from now on.  I would just take a couple of those big blue freezer bricks and throw them in there and your fish will stay nice and cool while you keep blood out of the water on the ocean.

That was my thought too.  I have been saving tons of those larger Gatorade bottles and freezing water in them.

I popped for one of the KatchKoolers because,,,,,,because I'm a fisherman and we just need to buy shit.

And I am not unhappy at all!  It's not just good, its perfect! It's a big bag(!) but it fits perfectly in the front hatch or the tankwell.

As soon as it arrived I loaded it with 10lbs of ice and it swallowed it without a blink and then I left it in my car in the sun from 12 to 7pm and it had plenty of ice when I went home. Got it home and left it on the porch in the sun and it had about a 1/3 of the ice in the morning. Not to shabby! I put it back on the floor of the Subaru the next day and parked in the sun again. It still had cold water by the end of the day and has FAR out performed any of my other bags.

If I had to make up a complaint it'd be with the non-water tight zipper. It has to remain somewhat upright to hold water. But that's okay as a waterproof zipper would shoot the cost through the roof.

I have not bloodied mine yet, but my buddy stuffed his with a 4' Black Tip Shark that just barely made it into the bag and it cleaned right up with just dawn. (I had no idea Black Tip was soooo tasty!) It just plain works.

For $20 bucks ($25 after shipping for me) its better than anything I've seen at twice the price (or more)

Thanks again Zee and/or whoever else discovered this lil gem!!!
