I know there is a posting on the 365i somewhere but could only find 1 from RAVDAKOT that he was mounting on his Malibu X-13. I'm thinking about getting the 365i combo. Any of you have any info on this FF and GPS unit GOOD or BAD. :o
Had to decide between COLOR or GPS. The wife won't up my allowance for both >:(  How is the GPS mapping for the Or. coast?

Even if the mapping is no good, I would still say take the GPS combo over the color  (unless you has a GPS mounted or otherwise on you already)

GPS is nice and I vote for it.  You can accurately mark locations like your planned fishing locations, your crab pots, a honey hole, rock piles, back eddies, etc.  You can track your catches over time to determine trends.  You can track your progress when in adverse conditions.  Sometimes you can't easily tell if you are making headway.

I chose a RAM mount on my 365i so that I could use it on both my X-13, and Fish 'n' Dive. It shares the same transducer as my P-max 220, and I use a RAM mount for it as well. So with that said Last Fri was her maiden voyage on Mayfield Lake in my Fish 'n' Dive. I didn't run her through all the paces, but so far impressed. The shoreline mapping appeared to be spot on in the lake, so I would expect nothing different from the OR coast. I'll be headed to Westport next week, and should be back on Mayfield this weekend, so if there is a feature you would like me to test for you before you buy just let me know. The only complaint I have so far is that the cables are attached to the base by a bracket. While this is ideal for lining up the plugs with the sockets exactly, it also means you have to leave the base attached to the boat during transport. It also means that I have to disassemble the cord/bracket assy to swap the mount between yaks. Not really a big deal, just have to be careful not to drop/set your boat on the mount.

Thanks Guys ;D
I have no experience with gps except for the one I have in my truck. :-[
I needed one that was ease to use. I like the mark and goto buttons on the humminbird. Also the dualbeam sonar.

when you're offshore and the fog rolls in, GPS can be the difference between an easy paddle home, and hours of cold sweat.  Don't ask me how I know this......

And if you have one with GPS make sure you know how to use it well before you go out, so you aren't trying to figure it out after being lost in the fog and a little panicked..Don't ask me how i know this....
See ya on the water..

Buy a GPS before you are at 7000 feet on the south slope of St Helens in a white out in the winter as well.

To AJ:  I think your wakeboarder friends spend their winters on snowmobiles in the parking lot on the South side of St. Helens.  They drink and snowmobile all damned night.

Well I did it. :) I ordered the Humminbird 365 i Sonar GPS from Cabela's.
They had it on sale for $279.00 with $5.00 shipping. The only problem is
that it's on BACKORDER. >:( Everybody must have been thinking the same
as me. Hope they are not to long with the backorder. Can't wait to get on the lake and learn how to use the GPS and replace the old bottomline FF thats on it now.  :banjo:

I hate waiting on backorders. Should be worth your wait though. Still learning all the functions, but love mine thus far.

Found out that the backorder for my 365i FF was going to be 5 WEEKS before it hits Cabela's warehouse. >:( Don't understand that a big outfit like Cabela's takes that long to restock ??? I caneled my order and reordered from Bass Pro Shop it's on a Fed Ex truck heading for Oregon now. ;D Cost me $30.00 more which is a lot when you are on a fixed income. But at leased I'll beable to use it this summer. :)

Fed Ex got my humminbird 365i FF to me this morning. WOW does this FF have a lot of functions to learn  ::) Now I see what ravdakot was talking about him still learning all the functions. It's going to probably take a couple of trips to the lake to learn whats going on with it. Going to start putting it on my yak tomorrow. Will probably put it the same as my old ff was. Since I have a sik there is not to many places to put it. I'll put some pictures up when I get it mounted with my other modifications that I've done.

You'll love it once you start to figure it out. It has taken me a few trips, and reading the manual a couple of time to get there. Pretty sweet once you start getting the hang of it though. Enjoy!! :occasion14:
