I'm heading out with a couple of guys on Sunday...Time to be determined...I was planning on heading to the Nisqually Delta, but Commencement Bay opens on Sunday and I've heard that Kings are showing up at the Carbon River Hatchery. So, it could be a good sign that the Kings are at the mouth of the Puyallup.

Fish are showing in the Nis for sure. I've been checking online reports, as well as the board @ wholesale sports. The green can should be getting hot. If they are in the Carbon, then the mouth of the puke should have fish too though. I plan to hit the green can next weekend. I'm finally coast bound tomorrow, and then it's honey-doos for the rest of my weekend. Post on how you do, inquiring minds want to know. Plus someone around here needs to start landing some kings already.

I'm definitely going to try Commencement on Sunday.

Rav I will definitely head out to the Nis next week if you're heading out. Let me know.

SG...I haven't heard much on Brown's Pt, but I've been checking at Dash Pt. So, far they've only pulled a few black mouths. But, hopefully it will be getting better soon. I want to try out there as well.

Thea's park is a good place to launch to fish the mouth of the Puy.  it's at the west end of Dock St. Nice little loading/unloading zone right at the launch and only a half mile paddle to the mouth.

Thea's Park, I might try launching over there if I can't find anything closer. Thanks for the heads up!

We launched from Thea park which was a great idea by the way the loading/unloading zone made it real easy.  We got there about 11am to catch the outgoing tide. There was probably 10 boats trolling the area across the silos. We tried mooching cut plugs and later switched to jigging.  No luck..I did hook a dogfish while mooching. I might try again next weekend there is supposed to be a negative tide and might try the upcoming tide instead...might even try nisq instead.

There were no fish in the Puyallup yet either.  Those reports of fish being at the hatchery may be inaccurate.

I'd have to agree w/ Lee. Was out at Edmonds mooching last night and was the worst August 1st I've ever seen.

BTW You can get an idea of how the fish are working their way in by checking the creel reports. http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/creel/puget

I gave it a go for a couple of hours off Picnic point yesterday. I think it took longer dragging my Pro Angler over and back on the RR overpass than time I spent fishing. One shaker blackmouth for 2 hits. Slow!!!

fished in the Arima from 0500 to 10:00 Sunday, for the "opener".   Saw 3 kings caught, all by guys jigging in shallow (40-45ft) water, one was caught by the Boater Assist cat!!

I went up to the Hatchery late yesterday afternoon on the way home and there were maybe 6 or 8 kings rolling around in there. But, they were good sizes...I'd say over 15 lbs easy.
