Does anyone have one of these?  I'm looking at the 9' or 8'6" for primarily a river pole and Salmon trolling.

I have a friend that has a g1000 for ever. That rod has gotten a lot of fish. I went with a XMG 50 rod and man you can feel everything in the river. All of these rods are for drift fishing. I have a Cert Pro and I use it float fishing. It is a 10'6" one and it picks up a lot of line when you need it. Great Rods.

If you want untill the Sportsmans show Bob's always has great sales on these rods.

For durability and touch its hard to beat a Loomis GL2. A bit more money than a G1000 but worth it. Both are quality products.

Those XMG 50 rods look really nice.  Where do they carry those in the south sound area?  Sportco looks to be out (at least online)

Lee .. you could always go down to Kalama/Woodland area to the Lamaglas shop and look at them.

Do you know if they sell them straight from their shop?  I'm probably going to be making a lot of calls today lol.

They'll sell them from their shop at full MSRP, but there is a retailer nearby that they usually send you to that sells them much cheaper.

Outdoor Emporium in Seattle says they have 2 of the 10' 6" XMG 50.  I might be driving there today  >:]

Sportco & OE are sister companies. Sportco also carries the XMG50"s. By the way, Sportco's website sucks. It only lists a fairly small % of what they carry.

Yeah I called them.  They don't have the XMG 50 in 10'6" or 9'2" and I'm not going with light power.  They DO have the certified pro series in 9'6" medium but it's baitcaster.  Guess I'm gonna learn how to use that pretty quickly   :embarassed:

Unless you're sold on Lamiglas, there is always loomis.  25% off loomis rods at monster tackle right now.  I've upgraded a lot of my rods in the last 2 months.  Can't beat the price and I'm loving them over my old st croix and lami's.  I'm a huge IMX fan now.

Looks like their Loomis promo may be over. I tested the "loom25" code & isn't working.
"Davis" will work for 10% off though.

hmmmm I tested it in cart this morning and it worked..  Still showing as working.  Does it drop off later in checkout for you?  Granted I haven't actually bought on it in 3 weeks but guys on TackleTour are still having success with it.

I got it to work with the help of the staff there. I put a rod in the shopping cart that they don't normally stock but it's all updated now. He said offer is still good until the end of July.

$98 off! Damn!!  :o

Looks like a really sweet deal.  I'm not really sure any of those fit my need though.  I really want something at least 9 foot, and prefer it to be medium or medium heavy action.  Sensitive enough to drift fish, and sturdy enough for piggies.

Recommendations?

(I'd kinda like to stick with spinning but it looks like that might not be a real option)
