Mouth of Puyallup RED HOT!!!  IF YOUR FISHING FOR HERRING.  Went out with Big Fish this morning launching from dock st park around 6:30am.  Right off the bat I thought it was going to be a great morning since the water was calm the sun was coming out and like 50 ft from launch we saw a couple salmon surface and then we noticed herring all over the place.  One section almost sounded like it was raining there was so many herring jumping around.  So we trolled all over the place with many different things like herring, different color coho killers, and spoons with not a single bite(unless you count the 6 inch baby salmon I caught on a 4 inch spoon hungry little guy I would say).  We even tried some jigging with nothing but snagging a couple herring.  I did not know what to do there was herring all over the place and occasionally I would see a salmon surface and yet nothing would bite.  Even out of all the PB there I only noticed maybe two fish caught all morning.  I hope this is a sign that maybe fishing will pick up there soon.

To funny  ;D. It was good to just get out and get the dust off the old kayak. Will have to try again soon. Lessons learned-bring herring rigs!

Or----use pt Wilson Dart in 35 feet of water in front of the paper mill, near the waterway by the Grain elevators.

I did.  I tried a green and silver one and a green and yellow one no luck except for snagging the random herring.
