Roy: FAB JOB! You certainly earned that fish, and I hope you boat a dozen more this fall.
A friend on iFish swears by an Al's Fish Flash, an FBR with anchovy or sardine and a 5-6-ounce cannonball on a short dropper. It's what I tried a couple of weeks ago in my little lake boat from buoy 26 to 28, with no love, but no one had any action that day.
I know what you mean about the tidal current there above the bridge. I can't imagine fighting it, especially with a breeze, in anything but a Hobie with Mirage plus a paddle. Glad you didn't get stuck and have to wait for the tide to turn.
Bill

I used basically the same setup. Spreader to dees flasher, 12 inch drop to 2-3 ounces with the current, 4-6 ounces against, then the cut plug on a mooching rig. I had 'em spinning nice today, but no love.

The current is only real bad in the channel, get in 2-3 feet of water and it's not too much problem at all.

Got one take down today, but didn't stick, of course i was talking on the phone went it hit. Didn't see alot of nets flying today.

Yea, i like how the DR turned out. I made that a couple years ago. I've yet to have a real release from a fish yet.

See ya on the water..

Way to go Roy! I want to get down there on Monday. What are your plans?

I hooked up with one on the Siuslaw yesterday, but it got off after a couple of good headshakes. Got my adrenaline pumping though!

Roy: I was actually running a Dee's myself when I was in Reedsport a fortnight back. Did you catch your hen with the tide or against?

GD: Any sign of jacks or bluebacks in the Siuslaw yet?

I was trolling against the tide right by the pile of gravel above discovery park.
