Hit the beach a little after 6 am, some fog and a tiny breeze..  There was a decent swell out of the north but the cape was doing its job and made for an easy launch.  Even remembered to bring the camera today.  The black rock fish were cooperating and picked up all I wanted in the same area I found them yesterday. A couple guys in a dory were having a blast with fly rods and non stop action.  Found a few underlings, some monster Cabs (22-24") and then a 25" ling.  One to go and I can go home!  To my surprise on the next drop I pick up a flounder on a 4oz lead head with a 6in scampi! (over the reef in 90ft of water) How it stuck I'll never know as its mouth was about the size of a quarter.    Fished for about an hour or two with no love then hooked up with what I thought was bottom until is decided to swim.  A hearty fight (love the drag on the new revo toro) and a quick shot with the gaff and a 38" 18lb 10oz ling was in my lap.  Needless to say it was a great way to end the day!  Wind picked up as I was loading the trailer, but otherwise a damn nice day on the salt.

Nice report.  After that, you should change your handle to Demersal Pedaler.

Yep, Biggest yak ling yet!  Might just have to change to Pelagic Pedaler based on how much I have come to love the Hobie mirage drive.  I don't hardly know how I fished without it!

Nice ling!

That starry flounder is pretty cool too.  I've wanted to catch one of those for a long time.  I've actually tried targeting them and still can't hook one.
